Hi everyone,

Things going from bad to worse at the moment.

I was on Cimzia which worked well for about 6 weeks and had to stop due to skin reactions. I am set to start Humira next week and have had to stop the cimzia for the last 45 days so it is out of my system.

Recently I have been suffering from a lot of confusion, memory loss, forgetting words etc so went to the doc who ordered a CT scan and bloods, whilst in the hospital my hands and feet started to go numb so as we were there and I was starting to get worried I went to a&e. The doctor there said that my bloods were fine and as the numbness had passed they could not say what was causing it at this time. After this she said that my CT scan showed some brain shrinkage in the front lobes and that it was smaller than expected for my age, she said that some RA meds can cause this. has anyone ever heard or dealt with this, I now have to wait to see GP for further investigation. A bit on the worrying side though!!Confused

take care
Natalie xx

Sorry Natalie, this is not something I've ever heard of, but I can understand you being worried.I hope you don't have to wait too long to see your GP, and you can get an explanation, and hopefully some peace of mind.

Take care,

Kathleen. x

Gosh, never heard of brain shrinkage! I've had numb hands and thigh though.

Sorry to hear you are having a rotten time and a shame you're having to change drugs when it appears one was working.

Hope things get better soon, keep us posted won't you?

Angie

Thank you lovelies,

I will keep you posted, I had never heard of brain shrinkage before but after googling it (I know not doing myself any favours!!! lol) its a little on the scary side. Plus my dad has dementia which is worrying me also. Anyway docs called so I have an appointment next week so fingers crossed.

Thank you again for your support

Love
